He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not…

When I was a little girl, I would pick any flower that looked like a daisy and play the “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not” game. I still play it now only I wait until the flower is wilting because I want to enjoy it as long as I can.  I can imagine myself as a 110 year old woman sneaking out of the nursing home crawling around on the ground looking for four leaf clovers and picking the petals off of daisies saying, “He loves me, he loves me not. He loves me, he loves me not.”  Now how is that for a mental picture??? If you don’t like that picture maybe you will like this one:

These would be great to take to the office or as treats for  your kids class. I would definitely limit the number of petals per student though. We don’t want them running around on a sugar high getting into trouble!

Supplies:

White Outline Icing

White Flood Icing

Yellow Flood Icing

Yellow Piping Icing

Stick for Flower

Do you recognize the cutters I have used for the petals? Do you see bunny ears?

I used a circle for the center of the flower. Just find one that is similar in size.

These are really easy to make. Just trim the bottom of the bunny ears to look like petals.

You don’t have to do this next step but it always makes me feel better. Before I bake anything with a stick I flip the cookie over, apply the stick where I want it and add a little extra dough. Then, I turn it right side up and bake.

Let’s start decorating the petals now.

With the white outline icing, outline the petals.

Then, with the white flood icing, flood one side of the petal and let it dry for 20 – 30 minutes.

With the white flood icing, flood the other side of the petal.

Now for the flower. Outline the circle with the yellow outline icing.

With the yellow flood icing, flood the center of the flower and let it dry completely.

Next, decorate the white petal following the directions above.

Once your flower has dried, you are ready to pipe “He Loves Me” with the yellow outline icing.

Bake a batch of cupcakes add these to them. That is all folks! It is that simple!!

Just because I love you I have made you a free cookie bag topper. Click here to get them:)
