Wouldn’t that snowman topper be cute with a set of snowman puzzle pieces? You could make 3 white circles, a hat, a scarf, 2 sticks, a carrot nose, buttons and coal eyes. The kids would have a great time building a snowman.

And you NEED to play with it because it can help you create amazing things. Right now we are going to focus on a blank template. Click “Save” in the gray box above the collage.Cookie Bag Toppers thebearfootbaker.comOnce you click the “Save” button, you will see this. You need to create a file name so you can save it on your computer. You also need to remember what you name it. I named mine PicMonkey Blank Template. Now, when I want to make cookie bag toppers, I just open this file and do not have to create a blank template each time.

Cookie Bag Toppers thebearfootbaker.comNow you are ready to make your toppers but first, you need to go to PicMonkey Home screen. Select “Edit a Photo.” Upload the blank template you just made. This is why it is important to name it something you will remember so you can find it.

Cookie Bag Toppers thebearfootbaker.comYou now see an image like this. Next, click the “Overlays” tab.Cookie Bag Toppers thebearfootbaker.comIf you want to add a colored back ground, go to the Geometric shapes and choose a square. Pull the circle on the corner to make it fit the template. Then, in the little pop-up box, select the color you want.

Cookie Bag Toppers thebearfootbaker.comNow for the text. Click the “P” on the left side and it will take you to fun, weird and fancy text you can chose from. Click the one you like and click on the “Add Text” at the top of the list. A box will appear that says “Type your text here.” Click inside the box and add your text. Then, chose a color for your text.

That is the basic way to make a cookie bag topper. You can do a lot with this but if you want to add more keep reading;)

Themes in PicMonkey:Cookie Bag Toppers thebearfootbaker.comRecently PicMonkey added “Themes” for Halloween. I hope they are going to add Christmas themes so we can easily make Christmas bag toppers. Keep your fingers crossed.

Anyhow, if you want to add these themes to your toppers it is not only easy but, super fun. There is one thing you must do first and that is click the “Merge Overlay” button so the themes you choose will be on top of your background color instead of behind it.

Now, play will all the buttons, stickers and fonts because I know you want to!!

Using Shapes in PicMonkey to Make Cookie Bag Toppers:Cookie Bag Toppers thebearfootbaker.comYou can also use the shapes to make things like turkeys, snowmen, Santa and so much more. You just need to know a few things first. You need to work from the back forward. What I mean by that is, the first shape you add will be in the back. If you add a second shape, it will be on top of the back shape.

To make this turkey, I wanted a white back ground so I uploaded my blank template.

  1. Then, I added the greenish brown rectangle across the entire image for a band to write Happy Fall on.
  2. Then, I used the scalloped circle label to create the turkey.I started with a big orange scalloped circle.
  3. Then, added the yellow and made it a little smaller.
  4. Next, came a slightly smaller red scalloped circle. That completes the turkey feather.
  5. Add a bigger brown scalloped circle for the body.
  6. To get rid of the scallops on the white part of my card, I made a rectangle and made it white so it would give my turkey a flat bottom.

Cookie Bag Toppers thebearfootbaker.comSave the toppers to your computer and print them when you want. I am going to stop here because I think you get the idea! PicMonkey offers so many different shapes that you can make just about anything! I hope you start creating your own cookie bag toppers because the right topper just adds even more WOW to those beautiful cookies you all are making!

Happy Creating,

Lisa
