Dracula Cupcakes for Halloween
I couldn’t resist! I had to make Dracula Cupcakes so the Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein cupcakes wouldn’t be lonely. OK, if you don’t like Dracula, look at this little guy really hard and ignore the bats in the picture. Do you see what I see? Is it Dracula or is it ELVIS!! HE’S ALIVE!!!! LOL Again, I couldn’t resist!By the way, have you been to PicMonkey lately? They have made things really creepy over there for Halloween. I used some of the new features to make this photo a little more “Count” like. You can make yourself into a witch, a vampire, add spider webs and all kinds of other things.
One of my favorite new things on PicMonkey is what you can do for a Halloween Party. Checkout the Potion Labels under the “Witch” tab. You can make your extra creepy or super sweet party invitations or labels. I put this together in about 5 minutes to show you a little bit of what is new. I will admit, some of it is a little too creepy for me so I tried to stay on the fun side to show you what you can do. I hope they do fun things For Christmas.
Back to Drac!
Supplies for Dracula Cupcakes:
White Cake Mix Cupcakes
Chocolate Icing
Black Food Coloring
Royal Icing Transfer Eyes
Fondant (Red and Black)
Tic Tacs
White Candy Pearl for the nose
These are a little more involved than Frankenstein and his bride because you have to shape the fondant and let it overnight. Other than that, it is a piece of cake or a batch of cupcakes. Think that will catch on? NO? Me either.
To make the cape, you will need a small amount of red and black fondant. To make things easy, you can buy Duff’s colored fondant from Michael’s. It really isn’t that bad if you use the 40% off coupon.
NOTE: If you use the baked cupcakes to make the capes, they will dry out. I recommend using the empty cupcake papers.
Once you wrap the cape around the cupcake wrapper, roll some pieces of paper towel under the cape corners like in the photo. You might want to use rubber bands to hold the paper towels so it will stay in place. Fold the top of the cape over the rolled paper towels until you get the look you want. Let it dry.
Once your capes are dry, bake your cupcakes according to the package instructions.
- When they cool, cut off the tops.
- Drop 1 bottom into the cape and add some icing in the center.
- Add the second cupcake.
- Insert two Tic Tac teeth using icing to hold them in place.
- Using the black food coloring to make the chocolate icing black. Insert it in a piping bag to add the hair.
- Add the nose and eyes and your all done!
Bear hugs,
LISA!!!!
These are hilarious. Such a cool idea.
Don’t judge me but I also saw a ladybug vampire. 😉
LOL!! No judging allowed on my blog! 😉
Love these and love your last line (Dracula or Elvis!)!
They did dress alike for a while! They both had slick hair and wore a cape! LOL
All of the Halloween cupcakes you’ve made have been so cute! You’re opening up a whole new world of cupcake possibilities!
Awe, thank Janine!

Halloween is a fun holiday! You can do things you normally wouldn’t do and use some great colors! Thanks for stopping in;)
Oh, Lisa, you just crack me up! I am a absolutely wiped out on this end, trying to get up the energy for my next task and I thought I would give myself a quick mental break and check in with you have been up to. I saw this and laughed aloud. You are so funny (and so clever!) Thanks for the needed pick-me-up! He is just adorable! Love your creativity!
Glad I could make you laugh Tracy! He’s a wild and funny guy! Now go take a break and take care of yourself so you will be good and ready for CookieCon! Can’t wait to see you;)
I love all your cupcake creations but I think this one tops them all! I also love how you beautifully staged the photo.
Love these! They are so cute and it’s very kind of you to take the time to show us how to recreate them! 🙂 Thanks and happy halloween
Too, too cute Lisa. I wonder if, too save money and the time you have to wait for the capes to set up, if you could use something like fruit roll ups… maybe strawberry and grape?… maybe glue it together with royal icing? Just a thought.
Thanks for the ideas Deborah. I haven’t bought fruit roll ups in yeas so I can’t remember if they would get firm enough to make the cape in the front but, it would be worth a try:)
How did I miss hm?!? Haha, he’s adorable!
