Gender Reveal Cookies
I want to start by saying I am NOT expecting a bundle of joy in my family. Even though I don’t know anyone within 500 miles that’s expecting right now, I had to make these Fall gender reveal cookies. Once I saw this big beautiful basket at Michael’s, I knew exactly what to do with it.I have seen several cute gender reveal parties on line and I wanted to make one that would allow cookies to tell the story. There are so many ideas for gender reveal cookie set. I hope these will inspire you.
First, make a bunch of pumpkin seed cookies. Outline them and let them dry for a few minutes before you flood them so it will look like an actual pumpkin seed. Let dry overnight.
I made mine with the Ateco Tear Drop Cutter Set from Karen’s Cookies. The size and the amount of cookies will depend on the size of your cookie jar. These are 3″ because my jar was huge and I had laundry to do and didn’t want to outline and flood tiny pumpkin seeds for a week. Pick the size you want and if you chose the small one, you have an excuse not to do your laundry! Did I tell you they are magic cookies;)
Make a blue or a pink pumpkin for the center. The tutorial is here but, chose the appropriate color of icing for your reveal.
Fill the jar half way carefully building a wall against the side of the jar. You want to layer them so no one can peek in the middle to see what color the little pumpkin is.
Place the blue or pink cookie in the jar and cover with the rest of the pumpkin seeds.
Next, you can make a cute little tag. Here is a step by step tutorial for making cute things in PicMonkey.
Your guest will be happy to help eat the cookies to reveal if you are going to have a little boy or a little girl pumpkin to add to your patch.
If you are throwing a Halloween party, you could make a special cookie to place in the middle or at the bottom for a giveaway. Whoever gets the orange seed wins a gift card or a bag full of your cookies. This idea is not just a gender reveal idea:)
