Halloween Royal Icing Transfers

The weather is starting to cool off a little and the spiders are finding their way inside to get warm. That can only mean one thing. Fall is almost here. Since fall is in the air and Halloween is the next big holiday on my calendar, I thought I would share some Halloween royal icing transfers with you.

I couldn’t decide on just one design so I am giving you four. That’s right, four templates to help make your Halloween decorating easier. I didn’t include a spider because I made one last year but, you can see the tutorial here. When you think about decorating baked goods for Halloween I bet you think of pumpkins, cats, bats, and ghosts. Well, that is what I think of so those are the templates I made for you.

I didn’t take pictures of the transfers being made because I want to talk about the patters today. I want to share how I came up with these designs. You might be surprised to find out you probably have the same tools I used to make these. The cat, bat, and ghost came from this set of Mini Halloween Cookie Cutters.

Once I searched my Halloween cookie cutters and found all the mini Halloween cutters I began to trace them onto a piece of paper. Some of them were a perfect size and some of them needed to be resized a little. If you want to resize them, use your copy machine and reduce or enlarge until you get the size you want.
