If you want your state to be a different color, go for it! After all, it’s your cookie and favorite team.
Once the cookie is completely dry, place the chevron stencil over the cookie. I wanted to use my Stencil Genie but, Tennessee was a little to long for the Genie and the stencil. But don’t worry, just use some magnets to hold the stencil in place while you spray your airbrush color. That handy dandy little tip came from Kim and Callye. You can read the story here.

Place the stencil on the cookie and make sure the stencil is placed off of the edge of the cookie on the left side. Now spray with the airbrush gun.

(I forgot the heart in this picture. Oops!) All done!
If you don’t have an airbrush gun, don’t worry. Hillary at The Cookie Countess has a video on how to stencil with royal icing. You can watch it here. You will need to mix the second color of your team if you want to stencil with royal icing.

Next, outline the edge and the seam with the brown airbrush color. You want the edges and the seam to be darker than the rest of the football so you may need to make a few passes (airbrush more than once) but, be careful not to spray to much or you will make a runny spot on your football. Then, lightly spray the rest of the cookie with the same brown by holding the airbrush gun farther away from your cookie. Let it dry for a few minutes.
Add some white lines for the laces.
