Charlie Brown Cookies
I remember the days when tv’s didn’t come with a remote control and we didn’t have anything digital, HD or 4K. Wait, I take that back, my parents had a remote. It was me! They would make us get up, walk across the room, twist a big knob on the front of the set or we could twist the UHF knob on the bottom for a special channel because that’s what you had to do back then. The worst part was cartoons were only played on Saturday morning because that was considered the “kid time” for tv. We would have to wake up early Saturday morning and watch our shows because, at noonish, they’d show western shows for the rest of the day. That is why we enjoyed playing outside because it was more fun than westerns.
The one thing I remember is the commercials for specials that would show at night. Specials included shows like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman or Charlie Brown. I loved Charlie Brown but never understood why Lucy would move the football every time Charlie Brown wanted to kick it because it was mean.
In case you haven’t heard, a new Charlie Brown movie will be in theaters this Friday. I can’t wait to see it because it’s about a boy I grew up with. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate so I made some Charlie Brown cookies.
These cookies were inspired by The Kim Six Fix’s Charlie Brown and The Peanuts Cupcake Wrapper and Printables. As soon as I saw them I knew cookies would go well with her cupcake wrappers. Now we need to invite some friends over, go to the movie on Friday and come back here to eat Charlie Brown cookies and cupcakes because cookies and cupcakes are a great plan!

- Lucy-Edges with Royal Blue
- Sally-Edges with Sky Blue
- The first thing you need to do is separate your cookies because they’re all the same shape and you don’t want to get confused.
- Once you have them organized, outline the Charlie Brown Cookies with yellow royal icing.
- After the outline dries for a few minutes flood them with the yellow royal icing because we all know Charlie Brown wears a yellow shirt.
- While the yellow royal icing is wet add the black zig-zag line because you want them to dry flat on the cookie.
- It’s starting to look like Charlie Brown now, isn’t it!
- Flood inside the zig-zag lines with the black royal icing while the yellow is still wet.
- If you see yellow icing through the black icing, use a toothpick to fill the missed areas because you want the color to look solid.
Time to airbrush!
I made a video for you because it makes life easier when you can see things in action and you can see how to decorate the rest of the Peanuts gang.
Charlie Brown Cookies Video
In the video, you may have noticed that I didn’t include a video of me airbrushing all of the cookies because I just airbrush the edges of Lucy, Sally, and Schroeder because these cookies are super simple and a little airbrush on the edge makes them pop. I’ve made a list of all of the colors for you but use whatever you have on hand that will look good.

If you get a chance to curl up and watch a Charlie Brown special this season, you may want to make some cookies and cupcakes to make the party complete because cookies and cupcakes make everything better. If you do, please tell Lucy to leave the football there until Charlie Brown kicks it and be thankful for your remote control.
Bear hugs,
Oh Lisa, I do remember walking across the room and changing the channel, going to the kitchen to grab a snack during commercials. And even without DVR, the Charlie Brown shows were never missed! I too am looking forward the movie and your cookies are just the cutest way to celebrate!
Oh the good old days Kim! I hope you enjoy the movie. I am going first thing Friday!
I remember that too – except some times it was pliers turning the knob after it broke off! I have been wanting to do Charlie Brown cookies ever since I saw the movie coming out – thanks for another great idea!
I forgot about the pliers! Hahahah I so remember doing that!
Adorable cookies, Lisa.
While I cook, I “listen” to the news on our television in the family room. Obviously I am in the kitchen, but I always ask one of my kids to turn it on for me. Every time I ask, they complain about having to “push a button on the remote” which is laying 8″ from them. I LOVE to remind them how when I was little, television didn’t have a remote and I had to get up and cross to the other side of the room to change the channel, fix the “rabbit ears”, and turn the volume up or down for my mom and dad…all of which was done without a hint of complaining. For good measure, I then remind them that t.v was in black and white back then, and that I was 12 years old before we got our first color television set!
That is so funny! 8″ way and they don’t like doing it!
I remember being in the next room and they would yell for me to come change it! LOL You did bring up good memories of the rabbit ears! I totally forgot about those tin foiled treasures!
I think cable tv hit our area when I was 14 or 15. We thought we were in heaven!
Your Charlie Brown cookies are soooo cute! I love ’em and I love Charlie Brown..taking my grandbabies to see the new movie tomorrow! :o)
Love Charlie and the gang cute cookies as always !!
