Rice Krispie Treat Snowman
I am a sucker for Rice Krispie Treats! I am a bigger sucker for snowmen! Did I mention I adore coconut? Well, add them all together and I am one happy girl!
Supplies:
Rice Krispie Treats
Coconut
Extra Marshmallows to melt for “glue”
1 Oreo Top
1 Large Marshmallow
Candy for Decorations
Pretzels for Arms
Start with a batch of Rice Krispie Treats. If you need the recipe, click here. Once you make them, let them cool a little so you don’t burn your hands.
I went to my local grocery store and played in the candy isle until I found clothing, eyes and a nose for my little snowmen. You will also need a large toasted marshmallow and a cookie such as an Oreo for the hat.
- While the Rice Krispies are still warm, break off some to form into balls. One needs to be slightly smaller then the other to make a head and a body.
- Then, smash the top and bottom of each ball a little so it will be flat. This will help them stay together and help when you add the hat.
- Next, gather the candy for eyes, a scarf or buttons, and nose.
To assemble the snowmen you will need to melt a few marshmallows and a little butter to act as the “glue.” I don’t know why I think melted marshmallows are so pretty. I am a total food nerd! LOL
- To assemble your cute little snowman, begin by dipping the top of the body into the melted marshmallow.
- Then, place the head on top of it and hold it into place for a minute. You can sit them down and assemble other ones while it dries.
- If you want a snowman on a stick, this would be the time to add it. Just remember, if your snowman is too big, it will be hard to keep it from falling off the stick. In this case, smaller is better. Dip the stick into the melted marshmallow and then stick it into the bottom of the snowman. The stick needs to go into the body and the head so it will be more sturdy. Lay him on his back and let it dry for a few hours before you move onto the next step. The dryer, the better.
Pour the coconut onto a plate, parchment paper or into a large bowl.
Dip the snowmen into the melted marshmallows. Use a spoon to make sure they are covered completely.
Then dip them into the coconut. You may need to reheat the “glue.”
If you don’t like coconut, you could use chopped white chocolate chips.
- Twist off the top of Oreo cookie and eat the rest. 😉 It is OK, I won’t tell anyone!
- Then, toast a marshmallow and add it to the top of the cookie. Use a little more melted marshmallow as glue if you need to.
- Cut the sour worm candy in half lengthwise so it won’t be bulky. Then, attached it around the neck with more marshmallow glue. You may need more than one worm to fit around the neck. If it doesn’t want to stay in place, you may can use a spaghetti noodle as a pin. Just break a little piece and carefully insert it into the worm and body.
- Cut one of the worms in half lengthwise and then again widthwise and use it for the scarf tales.
- Glue on the hat.
- Glue on the M&M eyes.
- Trim the candy corn until you get the right size for the nose. Glue it to the face.
- Stick the Pretzels arms in the sides.
- Glue on the hat and look how cute they are!

Very cute! We just got a little bit of snow in Virginia – but not enough to make a snowman! Still, it makes me happy to see everything covered in a beautiful, white blanket 🙂
Love it all just like you!! We’re kind of like twins!!!
