Cotton Candy Cookies

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am a cotton candy junkie! I honestly think the convenient stores see me coming and move the racks to the front by the register. It is right there within my reach when I am paying for my gas. I have to force myself  to keep my hands in my pocket or I will go for that sugar high every chance I get.

Cotton Candy Cookies by www.thebearfootbaker.comI am trying to get healthy these days so, I have decided to use these cookies to help me curve my cravings. I don’t know if it will work but, I like the way these cotton candy cookies turned out so I guess it is a win, win situation.

Cotton Candy Cookie Supplies:

Pink 15 second Icing– I used a drop of Wilton No-Taste Red
White 15 second Icing
Red Gel Color and a Paintbrush
Airbrush Gun and Pink Airbrush Color

  1. Outline the top of the cotton candy cookie with pink and let it dry for about 20 minutes.
  2. Flood the top of the cotton candy with pink.
  3. Airbrush the edges of the candy only and let dry for a few minutes. For information on how to airbrush, click here.
  4. Outline and flood the cone white and let it dry completely.

Next, us a paintbrush to paint strips on the cone with red gel color. Add a little water to some food gel color and paint on the cookie. Don’t stress because it’s easy!

I really think the airbrush makes these cookie super cute. Just lightly spraying the edge gives them some dimension that I can’t achieve with icing alone. If you don’t have an airbrush gun,  you can use Petal dust to give it a similar look.
