Where is the Mail? I don’t know
Where is the mail? Well, I am not sure!
Sometimes things go wrong. Terribly wrong. Like sometimes you lose your car keys and miss an important meeting or you fall off your chair and bump you head or (gasp!) your email doesn’t work. Well, my email has been broken.
Where is the mail?
It all started at Cookie Con when I told everyone to “Email Me! I always answer my emails!” You all would walk by me with big smiles on your face and say, “I sent you an email” and I would think, AWESOME you emailed me. I can’t wait to read it.
I never got to read it. I just heard crickets instead of, “You’ve got mail!” So I am asking where is the mail?
I always read my emails and reply within a day or so. I am positively sick about the one’s I didn’t get. I wish I could turn back time and fix the issue before it became an issue, but I didn’t know about it. So instead I am asking, “Where is the Mail?” I don’t have it and for that I am truly sorry!
I am heartbroken. I pride myself on being accessible and someone you can reach out to that will help you any way I can, but unbeknown to me, the line of communication has been broken and I didn’t even know it.
First of all, the issue is fixed now so thank goodness for that!
Second, if you have emailed me, like ever, and I didn’t answer you, please, please, please resend your email! I beg you. I want to be here for you and chat or hang out or help if you need it.
I promise, I didn’t ignore you!
I didn’t read your email and decided that I didn’t want to answer it.
I simply did not receive it.
And for this I apologize! I am truly sorry. I want your emails! I NEED your EMAILS!!! I want to chat and reopen the lines of communication and be cookie friends again.
So please, can we be friends again? Will you forgive me for not being the most “coding savvy” blog person that checked the email code to make sure it was and has been working great since the beginning of time?
I hope you can. This is where I add a cute joke and tell you to “Email Me!” and we laugh and laugh and make some cookies together because you forgive me. You forgive me right?
Please resend those emails and I will answer them asap.
Bear hugs and I love ya cookie friends,
If I had previously emailed you, I would def forgive you, but I haven’t?. However I greatly enjoy seeing all the cookies you bake. Doris (Taylor) bought me your book also. Love your blog. What the heck is cookie con???i
Hi Rhonda!
Tell Doris I love her! She is a precioius, precious woman!!
Cookie Con is an amanzing Cookie Art show where you can learn to do almost anything to a cookie that will take your decorating to an entire new level! I was honored to be the guest speaker this year and had the time of my life! I am writing a post on this years show very soon! 😉 It is hosted by Mike and Karen Summers with Karenscookies.net. They are an amazing couple that do so much for the cookie community. Here is a link so you can get the info for next year’s show: http://www.cookiecon.net/
Hi…
This is my first email to you. I really do enjoy your amazing cookies and all the wonderful info you share. I have watched your packing and shipping totorial many times.
This is the issue I’m still having. I send cookies with royal icing to my pals in other states. I am still having an issue with the icing sticking to the parchment paper I wrap it with. Then I put that in a sealed wrapper.
I freeze my cookies icing and all before I ship them. Why do you think the icing is still sticky in some cases? I know their dry to the touch. I also put them in the dehydrator.
I’ve read that food coloring can cause the icing to be sticky. Help!
Thank you so much!
Hi April,
I have a few suggestions for you to try that might resolve your sticking issue.
I am not sure how you are using the parchment paper. Are you wrapping the cookies with the parchment paper and then placing the parchment and the cookie into the treat bags? Can you send me a picture?
Here are my suggestions:
1. Ditch the parchment paper! I know parchment is a wonderful thing but once the cookies are decorated they seem to do better placed in individual treat bags like the ones I used in the shipping tutorial.
2. Once the icing on the cookies have dried completely, dust them with a little flower or powdered sugar. You can use a clean paint brush to remove the excess and it won’t change the way your cookies look, but the power will help prevent the icing from sticking to the treat bags.
If you have airbrushed the cookies, I hate to tell you that it will stick a little. I have not found a solution for that yet, but I am not giving up! I will find a way!
I may have a few other tricks up my sleeve in case this doesn’t work so let me know if you need more advice.
Bear hugs,
Lisa
First congratulations at CookieCon….wish I had been there to meet you and see you talk. Daughter’s 6th birthday….I did pause for a second and thought about going but decided not to. I hope to come to the next one, never been. Second you never need to apologize for responding to e-mails, you are one of the best responders and always respond to my comments straightaway, that is what I love about you…apart from making fabulous cookies. Look forward to your post in my mailbox, always funny. Take care. Xx:)
Thank you! Cookie Con was amazing! I am still on cloud 9 with my head spinning from all the amazing people I met and all of the beautiful cookies I had the privilege to see up close and in person!
I have known this for a while, but Cookie Con brought us together to confirm that cookie people are the nicest people in the world! And the most talented!!!
Hope your daughter had a great 6th birthday. I wish we could have met at CC, but our babies come first. Maybe we can meet next year!
Thanks Claire! Like I said in the post, I want to be accessible and help any way I can so I was heartbroken when I realized I wasn’t getting my emails. I am so glad the issue is fixed!
Bear hugs,
Lisa
