I'm telling you I am absolutely AWFUL at making flowers! LOL I spent hours trying to make ribbon roses and those things looked like yarn strings strewn about ??
I'll have to keep working on it. I really want all different kinds of pretty flowers to add to my cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, chocolate covered marshmallows and even chocolate covered pretzels....because even sprinkles need to play dress-up sometimes too!
I'll keep watching the videos and keep practicing! Thanks for always sharing such great tips!

Hy Alyssa,

You will have to freeze them for a few minutes so you can transfer them to the cake or cupcakes without harming the shape of the flowers. ;)

In reply to <a href="https://thebearfootbaker.com/buttercream-ribbon-roses/#comment-29457">Joan - My Cookie Clinic</a>.

Hi Joan,

You really should use your flower nail. It makes making flowers simple. And if you mess up, just scrape the icing in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. It can be used again later. I hope you try it because with your decorating skills you will make gorgeous flowers!

Hi Janis,

I like unexpected things when decorating. Years ago no one would have thought about making surprise cakes full of M&M's, but now they are everywhere! Unexpected is often fun! :)

I like the idea of giving the rose an unexpected center....the unopened flower/bud may be what is taught and well known, but mixing it up and throwing in the unexpected is really nice. Thanks for sharing your creativity! Hope all is well. :)
