I love chocolate oatmeal cookies! I first tried them as a girl, my Grandmother made them for me! I think of her everytime I make them, (or eat them) and I am in my 50’s. Such an easy way to make great memories.

You brought back some wonderful memories for me today. When I was a little girl, my brother and I used to go to a farm for the summer (she was our babysitter). She always made these cookies for us. We used to call them Mystery Candies and I haven’t had one since those summer days spent on the farm. I am going home and making these tongiht – just in time for my birthday. This will be my birthday present to myself and a brief memory to share with my family. Thank you so much!

Yes, you’ve hit a soft spot with me – I love these cookies and they bring back such great memories of my mom having all sorts of them laying out on wax paper – me, just waiting to grab one. They make my tummy happy! 🙂

Lisa, These very cookies have been my (and my brother’s) favorites since I was in Brownies. Every birthday, Christmas, any special occasion (getting home from 6th grade camp:)), my mom would make these for us. My mom has been gone for 27 years and I think of her EVERY time I make them. <3

This recipe brought back so many fond memories of cooking with my momma, my brother and I arguing over who would get to lick the spoon, and the days when you could make special treats to hand out on to all the little tricker-treaters without parents having to fear for their children’s safety.
