Hi Lisa,

I haven’t froze decorated cookies before. I’m working on a plan for a post about it but I’m afraid my royal icing colors will bleed if I freeze them. Hopefully, I’ll work on the post at the first of the new year. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

I think Bridget at Bake at 350 has frozen her cookies so you might want to check her blog.

Hi Jocelyn,

It’s not that hard to open them but you might want to help kids open them. When you use the heat sealer it does make it a little harder, but the freshness is worth it in my opinion.

Hi Liane,

Sugar cookies stay fresh for 2 weeks to 4 weeks. I don’t let them hang out at my house that long. I usually give them away after 3 or 4 days. If you want to do a comparison on a tin, jar, or bag, I’d love to hear your results. 😉
