The cake is so cute! One word of advice though. You had the frosting mishap because your frosting was to thick. When you frost a cake, you want medium buttercream. Thicker buttercream is for the decorations. I have been a cake decorator for years and my mother before me and we almost always use box mixes with no issue. I love your coconut chip idea. I am making a cockatoo cake this weekend and will use that idea or shaved white chocolate idea this weekend.

She is “puckering up” to give you a kiss, and her “fins” are very happy wings that are frantically going back-and-forth at such a fast speed that they only “appear” to be fins. Things become very blurry when they move so quickly.
Please don’t be upset with how she turned out. I think she is beautiful! 🙂
