Dear Lisa, Here's the RI recipe I used: 5T MP, 3/4tcream tartar,3/4c H2O, 4c confectioner sugar,2T corn syrup,1t glycerin(Wilton brand),12 drops white gel color, 1t vanilla. Mixed on med spd(hand mixer) for 6 min. I read to not skimp on the mixing time. I know it makes a difference on some recipes if a stand or hand mixer is used. No, I did not use a fan to dry. But I have a new fan I bought just for my cookies. If that makes a big difference, I start using it every time. Thank you. I learn so much from reading your blog.

Hi Jeannie,

What recipe did you use? How long did you mix the icing? Do you use a scale to weigh the powdered sugar? Did you place the cookies in front of a fan to help them dry with a shine?

Once you get back to me with the answeres, we will see if we can figure out why it was dry. ;)

Wow, I wish I would have seen your tutorial when I bought mine a while back! I have used it a couple of times but apparently I have not really been cleaning it right. I think I have done it well enough that nothing was hurt, but I will try your cleaning techniques next time. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Colleen! I like how the airbrush gun can give a lot of character to a cookie with very little effort.

You are so cute Sharon! The airbrush gun really isn't that hard to use. It has 3 different speeds that really allow users a lot of control. I hope you get one someday cause they are fun!
