OMG! What a memory that brings back. When I was about 3 or 4, my babysitter (from the South), ran outside, gathered snow & made it for me. Even at that age, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing or eating!! Clearly it made quite an impression, all these years later!!

Wow, I never heard of such a thing! I was born and raised in Florida, then moved to Seattle. Both places rarely ever have snow. I guess that’s why it was a mystery to me until now! Sounds like a fun treat to make on those snowy days. 🙂

I am sending this to my daughter (I was just telling her about it). She lives where it does snow; I don’t. Maybe next time I am at her house when it snows, we can make it because I’d love to try it! Thanks, Lisa!

I need to visit a snowy place! Here outside of Los Angeles we don’t get much … as in neeeever! Snow Cream sounds wonderful … especially the gathering of snow 🙂

My grandmother always said the first snow had “radiation” in it lol. But it was enough to scare me into not eating it. She also used Pet milk what was left if any she put in ice trays and froze for later yummmy

Hi Lisa! I remember my mom making this for our family when we were children. She used evaporated milk, sugar and vanilla. We did not measure the ingredients, just added enough milk to make it creamy and sugar and vanilla to make it taste delicious. I always looked forward to those snowy days, just so we could mix up a big bowl of snow cream. Wonderful memories!
