Rice Krispie Turkey Legs

Don't fight over who gets the turkey legs this Thanksgiving! Make some cute Rice Krispie turkey legs with the kids so everyone gets their favorite part.
Prep Time 20 minutes
Servings 12 Turkey Legs

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons  butter or margarine
  • 1 10 oz. Jet-Puffed Marshmallows
  • 8 cups  Kellogg's® Cocoa Krispies® cereal

Instructions

Pretzel Rod Legs:

  • Break the pretzels in half.
  • Place a small amount of chocolate in a bowl and melt it according to the directions on the package.
  • Dip one end of the pretzel into the melted chocolate and place it on a piece of parchment paper.
  • While the chocolate is wet, add two marshmallows and press them into the chocolate.
  • Let it dry.
  • Once the chocolate with the marshmallows has dried, dip the rest of the pretzel into the chocolate. I didn't cover the entire pretzel rod, but if you want to, it's up to you.
  • Let it dry and repeat. I think the legs look better when the pretzels are dipped twice.

Turkey Leg Cereal

  • Place the Cocoa Krispie Cereal in a bowl and set aside.
  • Place the marshmallows in a separate microwave-safe bowl.
  • Add the butter.
  • Microwave on high for 30 seconds.
  • Remove and stir.
  • Repeat until the marshmallows are melted and smooth.
  • Add the melted marshmallows to the cereal and stir until they are combined.
  • While the cereal is still warm, form the top of the turkey legs with your hands. Be careful because the marshmallows will be warm and you don't want to get burned.
  • Use a pretzel rod to make a hole in the end of the legs where you want to add the white chocolate pretzel legs.
  • Dip the end of the leg without the chocolate into the white chocolate and push it into the hole where you made the leg.
  • Pinch the cereal around the pretzel and let it dry for about fifteen minutes.
