Have you ever seen a pocket full of pencils? What about a Pocket Full of Pencil Cookies? I was looking at Sugarbelle’s Mini Cookie Cutters and when I saw that cute little pineapple cookie cutter I knew I had to make a blue jean pocket full of pencil cookies. I know that may sound weird, but it worked!

I’m all about simple things these days because simplifying things in my life seems like a good way to get things accomplished. Simplifying cookies every now and then doesn’t mean you have to stop at flooding your cookie because something as simple as adding a few sprinkles can make a very popular cookie. If you add white or brown royal icing to a rectangular shaped cookie you can make an ever so popular Pop-tart cookie. It’s a simple cookie that almost everyone on earth will recognize and it’s classic, simple and comes with sprinkles!

Back to School Round-Up – Cookies for an A+

Remember a long time ago I asked you to send me your “Back to School” cookies so we could make an amazing cookie round up? Well, I didn’t forget but I do get a points take off for taking so long to put it together.

I could give you some excuses like, “My dog ate my homework,” “I left town for a month for vacation and Cookie Con,” “I had the flu” (all of which is true except for the puppy part and it probably will be true after Christmas because that is what Santa is bringing me if I am a good girl.)

But I have an idea. Why don’t we look at all of the amazing cookies you all made and forget that I turned my paper in late. I know this plan is going to work because these cookies are so amazing you are going to get lost in the perfect icing and creative ideas!

I honestly LOVE what you all made. Cookies, crayons, busses, apples, kiddos, rulers, puzzles, papers, stars, logos, teachers, stars, chalkboards and so much more! You all are seriously incredible decorators and I am honored you shared your works of art with me!

I have already picked out some ideas to send to school with my daughter to share with her co-workers. I am going to add a few Santa hats and snowflakes so the teachers can eat away during Christmas Vacation.

Can you believe it is time for school to start? I am shocked at how fast summer came and went. They say that is a sign of getting old. Well, if it is I am there baby! I am so old I want to sit on the bank of the lake and fish with these cute worm royal icing transfers. Isn’t that silly?
