Princess Crown Cookies

Do you own a princess crown cookie cutter? I have about six of them and I don’t think I have ever made princess crown cookies. If I have made them I don’t remember what they look like so I decided to make a few simple cookies with a few sprinkles and white Sixlets. Sprinkles and Sixlets make the world a happy place.

Simple Princess Crown Cookies- Sugar Cookies Decorated with Royal Icing- thebearfootbaker.comAs I look at these simple cookies I realize how much detail can be added to them. My plan for these was to make a simple design because sometimes simple is better. Then, I started to wonder how other decorators made their princess crown cookies, so I did what any other cookie decorator would have done and Googled it. “Princess Crown Cookies” got some incredible results that have inspired me to make a more detailed set in the future. I will share the links to those amazing cookies at the end of this tutorial, but right now, let’s make some simple crown cookies.

  • To begin, outline and flood the top of the crown with the pink icing by following the lines of the cookie.
  • While the icing is wet, add a white Sixlet to the top of each the points and let it dry for a few hours.
  • Next, outline and flood the bottom of the crown with the white icing and sprinkle with the sanding sugar while the icing is wet.
  • Shake off the excess sprinkles and gently push the sprinkles on the edges into place so it will have a nice neat look.
  • Let it dry overnight.

Next time I make them I am going to take a lesson from the Google search results and add more details. However, I think these cookies would be perfect for a little girls birthday party. You can set up a cookie decorating station and let each little girl feel like a princess as she makes her own little crown cookies. You could even add a few princess dress cookies and watcher their creativity to bloom.

Well, get ready to be amazed by what these fellow cookie decorators have done with a simple little crown cookie cutter. They are super talented!
