  • All you need to make this syrup is equal parts water and sugar.
  • One cup sugar and one cup water. Or you can use 1⁄2 cup water and 1⁄2 cup sugar. If you’re decorating a lot of cakes you can use six cups sugar and six cups water. It doesn’t matter as long as you use equal parts of both.

  • Some people say it will last forever in the fridge, but I don’t like to push things. I like to keep mine in the fridge for one month in an airtight container to make sure it’s good.
  • If it’s left in the fridge for a long time it will get moldy and moldy syrup isn’t something I want on my cakes.
  • If you research it you will find different suggestions on how long it will last. 1 part sugar + 1 part water will last for one month in the fridge. 2 parts sugar + 1 part water will last up to 6 months.
