Brooke Will Show You How to Make These Adorable Christmas Cookies

Brooke asked me if she could show you how she makes adorable Christmas cookies in July. My heart skipped a beat with excitement. I was thrilled she wanted to decorate cookies while I video-taped her.

Meet Brooke! She is my amazing six-year-old granddaughter who lives in Georgia.  As you probably know I live in The Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee so we don’t get to visit in person that often. That makes me really sad. So sad that I’m thinking of moving to Georgia just so I can spend more time with them. I know it can’t happen, but it’s a dream I’ll hold onto.

Alan and I were very blessed this summer because she and her brother Tripp came to say nine wonderful days with us! It was perfect! We enjoyed every second of it and I can’t wait to see them again!

While they were here we made sugar cookies and Brooke asked me if we could make a video so she could be on the blog. She loves my job and all of my cookie tools so we baked some cookies, made some royal icing, and I stood back and watched her work. WOW! I knew she watched all of our videos on Instagram and Facebook, but she blew my mind with her talent! Watch how she used the Thingamagenie Decorating Tool! The girl has skills!!!! I totally enjoyed watching her create her cookies the way she wanted. All I did was hold the camera and smile as she focused, laughed, and created her masterpieces.

Let’s Get Started with the Christmas Tree Cookie:

  • I should have written this post while Brooke was here, but I didn’t. I’m not going to go into great detail explaining what she did because you can watch the video and see how she works.
  • My job during this process was very simple, I stood back like a proud grandparent and watched her precious little hands create something we’re proud of. It was magical.
Candy Cane Cookies:

  • Who knew a few sugar cookies and some royal icing could create such amazing memories.
Star Cookies:

  • The next time you have some extra cookies and royal icing you should invite someone over to decorate cookies with you. It doesn’t matter how young or old they are because sugar cookies don’t crave an age, but all ages seem to crave sugar cookies. Decorating and creating are a huge part of the process.

  • Decorating the cookies is an amazing process, but the memories you make will last forever!

  • I will always remember baking and being in the kitchen with my grandmother. She was so kind and patient with me. The skills she taught me are still with me today and I hope I share them with my grandkids as they grow.
Tripp Decorating Fox Cookies:

  • Are you wondering why Tripp isn’t decorating? He didn’t want to make a video with us, but he did decorate a few cookies. I didn’t get many photos because he enjoyed eating them as much as he enjoyed decorating them.
  • I did have a few photos of us decorating the last time I visited them in Georgia.

  • He’s smart, sweet, super talented in everything he does and he’s also an amazing cookie decorator. He’s been decorating with me since he was about two years old. I love looking at those adorable pictures of him watching the icing fall out of the decorating bag onto the cookies. Awesome memories!

  • Check out his fox cookie! I’m so proud of these kids!

Thank you all for sharing this day with my grandkids. You have no idea how much you all mean to me. You fill my life with joy as I watch you all baked and share your cookie pictures with us. Brooke and Tripp have taught to share the cookies with everyone you know. Don’t just give decorated cookies. Grab your kids, grandkids, friends, family, and neighbors, and bakes some happiness! Your heart will feel full!

Bear hugs,

Lisa
