Do you have any bigfoot believers in your crew? He may not be real, but he is a great model for cute bigfoot cookies and he’s guaranteed to get a laugh! I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve seen Josh Gates on Expedition Unknown looking for Bigfoot and I wanted him to find the big guy. Since Josh didn’t find him, I used my Ann Clark Bigfoot Cookie Cutter and made a few cookies. When people ask if I’ve seen bigfoot, I can say “Yes, I did!”

Royal Icing Colors:

  • Bright white by Americolor- outline consistency
  • Ivory by Americolor- 4 ounces of royal icing + 6 drops of Americolor Ivory. I used an outline and flood consistency to make these cute Bigfoot cookies.
  • Black- outline consistency
  • Totally Brown by The Cookie Countess- I used SOOTM Consistency (Straight Out Of The Mixer Consistency).
If you want to make it, add 8 ounces of SOOTM Consistency to 24 Drops of Totally Brown Food Gel Color. It’s a good brown color for Bigfoot. Use what you want to make it, but I thought you might like to know how this guy was made.

Let’s Make Bigfoot Cookies:

  • Begin by adding the outline consistency ivory royal icing to the face area.
  • Use a Thingamagenie or a butter knife to spread out the icing.
  • Next, dip a paintbrush into a little water and wipe off the excess on a paper towel. Use the damp paintbrush to smooth out the royal icing. Let it dry for a few minutes.
  • While it’s drying you can pipe the hands with the outline consistency of the ivory royal icing. Watch the video above for a reference.
  •  Are you ready to make Bigfoot have a big foot? I crack myself up! Anyway, use the outline consistency ivory icing to outline the feet.
  • Then, flood them with the flood ivory consistency.

Now his face, hands, and feet have a base flesh color. We will work on his toes in a little while.

Time to Add His Face!

  • Sometimes making a face with royal icing can be difficult, but Bigfoot’s face isn’t hard. I promise! I know I’ve already told you to watch the video, but you need to watch it.
  • Begin by making his nose and the rest will be easy!
  • After you pipe three lines for the forehead, two lines for the lips, and his nose, you need to let the icing dry for a little while because the next step is adding a little ivory food gel color for shading. All you need is a small amount of food gel color, a little water or vodka, a paper towel, and a paintbrush. Dip the brush into the water or vodka, dab it on the paper towel, choose the area you want to shade, and paint. It’s that simple! If you add too much color, raise the paintbrush and use it to remove or blend the color.

Bigfoot isn’t a neat-looking fella so this is a great cookie to practice your painting and blending skills. That’s another reason I love him!

  • It’s time for the toes. I like to pipe the big toe first and skip the second toe. Next, pipe the first, third, and fifth toes and let the icing crust over.  Then go back and pipe toes two and four. DONE!

Add the body, arms, and legs.

  • Use the outline consistency to outline his legs, body, and arms.
  • Next, flood him with the flood consistency of brown royal icing.
  • Let it dry for a little bit.

How Furry Is Bigfoot?

  • Are you ready for a workout? I hope so because we are going to add some fur with the outline consistency of royal icing. Start at the feet and add some lines across the ankles. Then move up a little and add the next row. Repeat this all the way to the top of his head. Just keep in mind to add them in a random pattern. If you go straight across the entire time he will look a little on the funny side.
  • Pipe two dots of white for his eyes.
  • While the white is wet add two black dots on the white. The eyes are done!
  • Now let’s work on Bigfoot’s beard. Pipe the white outline consistency of royal icing in little lines. Layer it as much as you want until you get the look you’re going for. You can make thin lines or thick lines. Make him the way you want.
