Cotton Candy Cookies
Hi, my name is Lisa and I am a cotton candy junkie! I honestly think the convenient stores see me coming and move the racks to the front by the register. It is right there within my reach when I am paying for my gas. I have to force myself to keep my hands in my pocket or I will go for that sugar high every chance I get.
I am trying to get healthy these days so, I have decided to use these cookies to help me curve my cravings. I don’t know if it will work but, I like the way these cotton candy cookies turned out so I guess it is a win, win situation.
Cotton Candy Cookie Supplies:
Pink 15 second Icing– I used a drop of Wilton No-Taste Red
White 15 second Icing
Red Gel Color and a Paintbrush
Airbrush Gun and Pink Airbrush Color
This picture is a little out of order. I must have been on a sugar high or been sleep decorating again. Anyhow, follow the steps below and use the picture as a guide.
- Outline the top of the cotton candy cookie with pink and let it dry for about 20 minutes.
- Flood the top of the cotton candy with pink.
- Airbrush the edges of the candy only and let dry for a few minutes. For information on how to airbrush, click here.
- Outline and flood the cone white and let it dry completely.
Next, us a paintbrush to paint strips on the cone with red gel color. Add a little water to some food gel color and paint on the cookie. Don’t stress because it’s easy!
I really think the airbrush makes these cookie super cute. Just lightly spraying the edge gives them some dimension that I can’t achieve with icing alone. If you don’t have an airbrush gun, you can use Petal dust to give it a similar look.

Super cute!! I can’t go to a sporting event, fair or Disneyland without getting cotton candy. It’s fluffy, it’s fun and made of pure sugar, what more could you ask for?
I totally agree with you Nikki! I am like a moth to a flame! Hahaha
I love cotton candy too! It’s like 80% air anyways so I feel there’s no limit to how much you should consume. 🙂 Great cookies, Lisa. The airbrushing really makes them look fluffy!
OH MIKE!! I love the way you justify with the 80% air! Hehehe
Oh my, these are wonderful!!!! Every single it e I think the next cookies cannot be cuter, it is!!! I always look forward to my cookie fix. 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!
Awe thanks Cindy! You made my day girl!!
You’re a whiz with that airbrush, Lisa!
Thanks Janine! I do love my little Wendy (that is what I named my airbrush machine)!
I agree, the airbrushing really makes these cookies pop. I would love to own a cotton candy machine. It would be so fun to make for parties.
I saw a cotton candy machine at Wal-Mart the other day and had a flash back to my high school days. I was a cheerleader and we were trying to raise money for cheer camp. Someone had the great idea of renting a very LARGE cotton candy machine and I was put in charge of making it. I was sticky from head to toe. My eyelashes were like pink clouds! There was so much in my hair that I looked like a human Q-Tip! Hehehe
I think I will “stick” to eating it! LOL
That is too funny. I had no idea cotton candy making was such a sticky job:)
Maybe things have changed since the 80″s! LOL If I ever own one of those machines, I will use it outside for the first few times.
oh these are just A-dorable!
What fun cookies – I love the light touch you have with your air brush. I need to get mine out again! BTW, I love cotton candy too!

Thanks Nessa! 🙂
I’m also a cotton candy junkie! Every time I’m at a ball game or fair and I see those big colorful bags I turn into a little kid and beg for it! Haha.. Awesome cookie interpretation!
I totally agree with you Carrie! Those colorful bags are like a magnet for me. I can’t resist! LOL
