My favorite holiday dessert and a tradition now, is I make cream horns for Christmas! They usually don’t get made too often unless it is Christmas!! I’m not sure why, but I think it is because I always make Beef Wellington for Christmas dinner and make homemade puff pastry. I usually make two batches of puff pastry just because I’m making one. Always leaves another one to do as I please. Cream Horns is the dessert I make with the other puff pastry! My mouth is already watering!! Merry Christmas to all!

Every Christmas I make up a batch of Swedish cinnamon rolls which are served for dessert. These rolls hold a very special place in my heart. Every year my mother would come spend time with me and my daughters making these cinnamon rolls. My mother passed away when my girls were young, and my youngest doesn’t have many memories of her except for making these cinnamon rolls. The scent of the cardamom and cinnamon reminds her of my mom which brings me joy.

We also have almond puff, a pastry, around Christmas, which is one of my favorites. I scrolled through quite a few comments, and am not surprised that many of them say sugar cookies, since that’s why we follow you. Sugar cookies are a year round favorite for me; Only reason I’m not listing them as a favorite for Christmas.
I like indulgent desserts that we don’t typically have year round – Any type of cheesecake, but a peppermint would be amazing, and any type of pie, but a mixed berry including cranberries would be perfect.
Pecan pie! Another family holiday tradition!
I also like other desserts we don’t typically have except at Christmas, like rich bar cookies with coconut, nuts, chocolate, and berries. Also gingerbread, jello and cream dessert salads, or a plate full of unusual homemade cookies.
Something I’d like to try this holiday season, after reading people’s choices here is Italian Cream Cake. Just looked that up and it looks delicious.
I’d like to try Nanaimo bars, mentioned by a couple people here. They’ve been on my list for a long time, but seem complicated to make. Iced cranberry pound cake and pumpkin roll are a couple other favorites.
