Old-Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies
I guess it is no secret that I like cookies. I like all kinds of cookies. I especially like these Old-Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies that are in the King Arthur Flour Cookie Companion book. A friend of mine sent me the book and I was so surprised. I was surprised by her generosity and by the beautiful book full of amazing cookie recipes.
This book is full of wonderful recipes. Everything that I have made is delicious. I have several more recipes marked to make in the near future and I can’t wait to bake more.
I had an oatmeal cookie recipe but, I love how soft and chewy these were. I have decided to make this is my new go to oatmeal cookie recipe. My daughter gave it 2 thumbs up and said she would give it more if only she had more thumbs. She is so funny! I decided to give her my 2 thumbs for a total of 4 thumbs up! Are we allowed to do that?
All the recipes I have marked are calling my name and I want to make them all today! If you are looking for a big book full of great cookie recipes, then you should go to your local library or bookstore and take a gander at it. I am sure everyone will find recipes they will love.
I have been organizing my kitchen today and wanted to share this recipe and book with you. I have a few other favorites to share. If you have a favorite I have missed, I would love for you to leave me a comment about it. Now that I am organized, I have room for more books! Hehehe
Here are my other favorites:
King Arthur Flour Cookie Companion- The Essential Cookie Cookbook
Sugarbakers’ Cookie Cutter Cookbook
Julia Usher- Ultimate Cookies
Cookie Craft
Cookie Craft Christmas

Happy Creating,
Oh there is nothing like an old fashioned oatmeal raisin cookie…your photography is just gorgeous.
Thanks Melissa!
Sometimes you just need an oatmeal cookie.
Thanks, Lisa! I will have to find this!
You should Tracy! You will love it!
I just purchased this book on ebay in December……….love it. I had checked it out at our local library and couldn’t part with it. I have a small home based cookie business and this is my go to for everything.
It is seriously loaded with great recipes. I am not getting paid by King Arthur Flour either. It was an awesome present and I had to share it with everyone. I am glad you like it also. I can’t wait for the next recipe:)
Hi Lisa! I love oatmeal cookies – will have to try these!
They are good Tricia! PS-I miss you!
I LOVE oatmeal in just about anything, just not plain oatmeal. So I think this cookie would be the perfect breakfast for me!
I NEED that cookbook. I have the KAF Baker’s Companion and it is awesome!
Feel free to try all 50 at once. We take handouts. Who knows? If my daughter keeps up her tricks, you may have to be sending me care packages in JAIL, LOL!
Your pics are beautiful. A wonderful addition is to use chocolate covered Raisinets in place of plain raisins.
Your photos are beautiful and the cookies (one of my favourites) look irresistible!
Do you have a recipe for fruit cake cookies?
I don’t have a fruit cake cookie recipe. I hope you find one!
