How to Make Bunny Paw Candy with Video

In the last few days, I’ve been watching two cute little bunnies outside of my kitchen window. I’ve never seen such playful rabbits in my life! They hop and chase each other all around the yard. Then, they hop under my husband’s truck and sit there like they’re waiting to pounce on whoever walks by the truck. They’re so fast that most of the time I only see a blur of their feet flashing like they’re some kind of Flash Lightning Superhero. After watching them, I had to make bunny paw candy even though I didn’t make them for Easter. I know, I know. I’m late as usual, but this time I totally blame the bunnies! Maybe they worked too hard delivering all those Easter baskets last week and now they’re rejoicing a job well done.

How to Make Cute Royal Icing Candy Decorations

Do you know what Royal Icing Candy Decorations are and how to use them? Better yet, do you know how to make your own? They have many different names like candy decorations, royal icing transfers, layons, and edible decorations and I usually refer to them as royal icing transfers or candy decorations. They’re basically designs you make by piping royal icing onto wax or parchment paper and let them dry completely. Sometimes it can take a day or two depending on the humidity. Once they’re dry you carefully remove them and store them flat or in little jars so they don’t break. You know, since they are made with royal icing they can easily break, but they’re an incredible tool for decorating cookies.

So now that we all know what candy decorations are, did you know you can use PicMonkey to make your own? If you’ve never heard of PicMonkey or thought about using it to make candy decorations, you should. It’s a site that is used for photo editing and it offers premium features that will allow you do all kinds of crazy cool things to your photos. You can add text, make Christmas Cards, Candy Bag Toppers and almost anything you can imagine. You can also use the overlays to make templates for your candy decorations.

The other day we make simple Spooky Candy Eye decorations by using stickers we found at the store. What I didn’t mention was picking up a pack of fall stickers to make colorful Pumpkin Royal Icing Decorations so we can have simple colorful accents for our fall cookies. I’ve seen different pumpkin candies at different stores this year but when you make them yourself you can customize the size and colors so they’ll be perfect decorations for your cookies made with colors you love. Hat and Mitten Royal Icing Transfers

Baby it’s cold outside, finally! For some strange reason winter has had a bit of a tropical feel this year. It was almost 80° on Christmas Day which didn’t allow us to wear our winter hats, mittens, boots, or cute scarves. The great thing about decorating cookies is we can create a warm and cozy feeling no matter what the weather is outside. Adding cute hat and mitten royal icing transfers to your cookies is a simple way to add a little fun and style to a cookie design even if you are wearing a t-shirt and shorts in December.

I am not really into fashion, but there is something about bundling up to face the cold winter weather that somehow makes life feel complete. Summer clothes are great, but there is nothing like a new hat and mittens to help us feel all warm and cozy on those cold frosty days.
