Turkey number nine is here. He is a bit more traditional than the other turkey cookies I have shared because I thought it was time for a pretty turkey cookie. And, I just got a new cutter from Fancy Flours and realized as I was removing it from the package and got a look at it when it was held sideways, it looked like a turkey.

Supplies for Pretty Turkey Cookies:

Santa Cookie Cutter
Red Icing
Brown Icing
Green Icing
Orange Icing
Yellow Icing
1 Orange Chocolate Sunflower Seed for each turkey nose
4 mm Black Edible Beads
Food Safe Marker

Begin by drawing a line for the turkey body and wing or you can freehand it and outline it with the icing.
Next, outline and body and tail with the brown icing.
Then, flood the tail area with the brown icing.

While the brown icing is wet, add a line with the red, yellow, green and orange icing.

Use a toothpick or turkey lacer to drag from the tip of the feathers to the turkeys tail to make the designs of the feathers.

Let it dry for about 20 minutes.

Next flood the body of the turkey with the brown icing.
Add the edible bead eyes and the orange chocolate sunflower seed to the face. You can add one eye or two depending on what you like. I started one and realized I liked two eyes better.
Let it dry for about 20 minutes.
Flood the wing and repeat the steps that you used for the tail.
Let it dry completely.
