Blueberry Lemonade Recipe
It is summer and it is hot outside! All I can think about is fresh squeezed lemonade to cool me off. One of the best parts of summer is going to the farmer’s market to get some fresh fruit. There’s just something about walking through the aisles and looking for the perfect berries. I found some beautiful blueberries next to the lemons so I decided to make blueberry lemonade.
My daughter told me about some blueberry tea her friend made last week. After seeing the blueberries and lemons side by side at the marker I had to try my hand at blueberry lemonade. If blueberry tea is good then blueberry lemonade has to be good. Why stop there? There are so many fruit combinations that would be delicious. We have blackberries that grow along our driveway and I am watching them like a hawk waiting for them to ripen so I can make blackberry lemonade next.

1 Pint Blueberries
1 cup sugar (1 1/2 cups if you like it a little sweeter)
Cute Paper Straws
- 12 lemons
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar reduce 1/2 cup if you like it tart
- 1 pint of blueberries
- 3 TBLS of sugar for blueberries
- Squeeze the lemons and remove the seeds.Set them aside. Place the water and 1 1/2 cups of sugar in a saucepan on medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Place blueberries, 1/4 cup of water, and 3 TBLS of sugar in a saucepan on medium-low heat and cook until the berries start to break down. Remove from heat. Let both of these mixtures cool to room temperature.Next, add them to the freshly squeezed lemons. Fill the pitcher with ice and enjoy!
I love how the blueberries give the lemonade a purple tint that kind of glows in the sunlight. Just be careful when sipping from a straw because those blueberries get stuck. LOL, I was very tempted to shoot one across the porch at Alan but, I knew I would be the one scrubbing the stains out. It was hard but, I was a good girl and kept my blueberries to myself.
I know we live miles and miles apart, but I like to think of us as friends that sit on the front porch swing with our glasses of blueberry lemonade. We can talk about our day or swing and look at the beautiful things in nature. You all are so sweet, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for following me through this baking journey. You’ll never know how much you mean to me!
