Blueberry Lemonade Recipe
It is summer. It is hot. All I can think about is fresh squeezed lemonade to cool me off. One of the best parts of summer is going to the farmers market for fresh fruit. There is just something about walking through isles after isle looking for the perfect berries. I found some beautiful blueberries next to the lemons and decided to make blueberry lemonade.
My daughter told me about some blueberry tea her friend made lase week. When I saw the lemons and blueberries together at the market, I had to try blueberry lemonade. If blueberry tea is good then blueberry lemonade has to be good, right? Why stop there? There are so many fruit combinations that would be delicious. We have blackberries that grow along our driveway and I am watching them like a hawk waiting for them to ripen so I can make blackberry lemonade next.
Supplies for Blueberry Lemonade:
12 Lemons
1 Pint Blueberries
1 cup sugar (1 1/2 cups if you like it a little sweeter)
Water
Ice
Cute Paper Straws
Ingredients
Lemons
- 12 lemons
- 1 1/2 cup of sugar reduce 1/2 cup if you like it tart
Blueberries:
- 1 pint blueberries
- 3 TBLS of sugar for blueberries
- Ice
Instructions
- Squeeze the lemons removing the seeds and set aside. Place water and 1 1/2 cups of sugar in a saucepan on medium heat until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Place blueberries, 1/4 cup of water and 3 TBLS of sugar in a saucepan on medium low heat and cook until the berries start to break down. Remove from heat. Let both of these mixtures cool to room temperature then add them to the fresh squeezed lemons. Fill the pitcher with ice and enjoy!
I love how the blueberries give the lemonade a purple tint that kind of glows in the sunlight. Just be careful when sipping from a straw because those blueberries get stuck. LOL I was very tempted to shoot one across the porch at Alan but, I knew I would be the one scrubbing the stains out. It was hard but, I was a good girl and kept my blueberries to myself.
I know we live miles and miles apart but, I like to think of us as friends that sit on my front porch swing sipping a glass of blueberry lemonade talking about our day. You all are so sweet and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for following me through this baking journey. You will never know how much you mean to me!

Bear hugs,
I am so gonna try this today!.. I make a pitcher of fresh lemonade every single day and I can’t wait to change it up.. It sounds delicious… Thank you for sharing!
I hope you liked it Kris! My daughter has been filling cups and jars to share with everyone in the office. I need more lemons! lol
Mmmm – blueberry lemonade sounds amazing! (Blackberry does too!) I have to drink TONS of fluids with the baby and all and sometimes I just get tired of plain water. Lemonade has been my lifesaver! 🙂
I remember looking for things other than water when I was expecting. One day something is amazing and the next day you can’t stand the smell! lol
That looks so delicious and refreshing! I’ve made something similar with raspberries which my daughter loves because it turns the lemonade pink. We’ll have to give this a try this hot, humid summer!
Awe! I think pink lemonade with raspberries is the perfect drink for your little princess.
This sounds so refreshing!! And can’t wait to try it. (PS: It’s been really fun following your blog! The pleasure has always been mine :))
Awe! You are so sweet! Thanks for making my day!
Oh does this look refreshing or what???? Plus I love the idea of going to the market instead of the grocery store. Sounds like an adventure! 🙂
It is an adventure Kim. I will take my camera next time I go and share some of the beautiful colors with you. Fruit and veggies are gorgeous!
This looks great for a pool party!
OK, now I want to go swimming! LOL
You have inspired me! I love mixing other fruit in lemonade … haven’t tried blueberries … I will now 😉
I will let you know how the blackberry turns out Brenda. It it is good I will email you the recipe;)
I want to drink the two glasses in the photograph so very super duper badly. The third glass, I will save to celebrate my victory over the first two. I’ll drink 1/2 of that glass, pause, and then say to myself under my breath, “You did it, Kip” and then drink the final 1/6 of liquid delicious and then nap under the shade of some old tree upon a hammock that swings with the cool breeze. While napping, I’ll dream of another three glasses.
You are the funniest man I have ever met Kip!
