Do you like flowers? I wish I could grow different kinds so I could stick them in Mason Jars and put them in every room of my house. I don’t have a green thumb because my thumbs are always covered in sugar, but that’s alright. I’d rather play in sugar instead of having to work outside all day. Mason jar cookies work better for me anyway so I can decorate them and give colorful bouquets to friends and family.

Were you a June bride or groom? My husband and I eloped in September many, many years ago. I always considered June to be month for weddings but August, September, October and December have been growing in popularity over the past few years. September was a great month to get married and I have never regretted eloping but I do wish we would have had Pinterest back then.

Mostly because you can find amazing wedding ideas like these rustic cakes. If I would have been a cookie decorator way back then, I would have made these rustic cake cookies and might have chose to have a traditional wedding instead of eloping…nope! I am an eloper but I could have still passed out these rustic cookies to everyone in the wedding chapel.

You know what else we didn’t have back then? Cookie books like Cookie Craft. It was the first cookie book that I owned because a dear friend bought it for me. It was full of decorating tips and cookie inspirations. It was a great gift and actually the inspiration for these cookies. (more…)

Spring has arrived and is in full bloom and I know that because everywhere I look I see beautiful flowers popping up showing off their vibrant colors and unique shapes. If you haven’t stopped to smell the roses or even take a moment to see how beautiful nature is, you need to do it today because you won’t be disappointed. If you don’t have time to smell the roses, make some daisy cookies instead!

Living in the mountains you see all kinds of wonderful things in nature. I have several beautiful wildflowers growing along my driveway so I stopped took a few pictures and it made me think about my blog. I was a bit surprised when I realized I haven’t made many flower tutorials because I love flowers. Today that is going to change because I have several tutorials planned. I think fun daisy cookies are the perfect place to start.

Spring is in the air and flower cookies are popping up all over the web. If you look at Pinterest you will see a ton of flower and flower bouquet cookies. There are beautiful cookies in all shapes, sizes, and colors. The best part is they are made with so many different cookie cutters that inspiration is jumping off the computer screen. I have been planning on making flower bouquet cookies for quite some time and had my flower bouquet cutter picked out. I really enjoyed making these butterfly cookies. They were a lot of fun and butterflies are beautiful by nature so, butterfly cookies have no choice but to be beautiful also. I really wanted to do something different in this set. I thought a few flying butterfly cookies would do the trick. It is very simple and I will show you how.

I normally don’t airbrush and paint on the same cookie but, for these butterflies, it turned out exactly the way I wanted. The bottom of the wings shows a little of the yellow airbrush color. That is hard to do without airbrushing and I think it really makes the wings look realistic. And it only takes a few seconds. Then, adding the details with a paintbrush really makes this cookie pop.
