Have you ever wanted to make a set of cookies but couldn’t get it to turn out the way you wanted? That happened with me on these alien cookies. I had an entirely different plan for them and I couldn’t make it happen. So I baked a few more cookies, changed my plans, and decorated a few planets, space guns, stars, and alien cookies. It may not have worked out the way I wanted it to but I think these little green guys won me over with their crooked little grins.

I want to tell you a little story about last week because I fell asleep on a plane in Tennessee and woke up in Texas. Don’t worry, Texas was my destination. A friend needed help with a really fun cookie project. I don’t want to give you the details of the project yet, but I will very soon in a fun cookie way.

Anyway, while I was in Texas we had a chance to go see the new Star Trek movie and it was really good. As a matter of fact, it is my favorite Star Trek movie to date because it was intense, funny at times, and entertaining all the way around. The best part is it inspired these cookies.

Is your dad a Superdad? Mine is. As a kid, I remember he would stop on the side of the road to help anyone who had car trouble or lend a hand to a neighbor in need. He worked a lot but always made time to help people and still managed to take me and my brother fishing. I honestly don’t know how he managed to do everything he did.

If I could have decorated cookies as a kid I would have made my dad some superdad hero cookies. As a matter of fact, when I was designing this set I wanted it to look like a kid helped make them. I don’t have kiddos that live in my house anymore because all of my kids are grown and live on their own so I when I made these superdad hero cookies I decorated like a kid. Father’s Day is almost here and I was thinking about making a few cookies for the dad’s in my life. I didn’t want to spend a lot of time planing and making something with a lot of colors because I know my dad will like anything I make. I decided this year not to turn his tongue black with BBQ cookies or spend hours and hours making vintage car cookies. This year, I decided to make these simple star cookies. I saw this card on Pinterest and knew I had found a simple design that would work perfectly and would let him know I think he is a star.
