How to Set up Your Airbrush Gun
You can purchase an airbrush gun here and airbrush colors here. Also, you can check your local craft stores like Michael’s and use a 50% off coupon. It doesn’t get better than that!
There are a few things you need to know.
- Only use airbrush gun colors in an airbrush system. Regular food gel colors may damage the machine.
- There are several types of colors like airbrush colors, electric colors and sheen colors.
- Be sure to clean the machine well after each use to keep it in good working order.
I have several tutorials where I use an airbrush gun and I am working on more. An airbursh gun is a wonderful tool that will help you make simple cookies that look amazing and it is super simple and not to mention how much fun it can be. Stay tuned for more airbrushing soon!
Bear hugs,
Once I finally got my airbrush gun out of the box (thanks to you) I want to find a reason to airbrush everything I make!!
I took mine out of the box and used it, but did not get clean lines with a stencil…what am I doing wrong???
Hi Maria,
Is your stencil close to your cookie? If not, it will allow the airbrush color to go under the stencil and make the design fuzzy looking. Also, hold the airbrush gun directly over the stencil. Don’t spray from the sides because the air from the gun can cause the stencil to lift allowing the color to go under the pattern.
Let me know if this helps. 🙂
thank you Lisa, I will try your suggestions…
I know you don’t want to say to all your followers that you’re dedicating this post for me, but I’m thanking you anyhow.
I love you Gail! You are the reason I wake up in the mornings and get my airbrush gun out of the box! LOL
Thanks for posting Lisa! I was so hesitant to purchase an airbrush until I started admiring some of your creations. Even after I made the purchase I was afraid to take it out of the box and start using it…it took a few months and I finally made the leap and can’t believe how easy it is! The finished cookies have an added dimension that they wouldn’t otherwise have. I do have one question….when and why do you need to adjust the air pressure? Thanks
