I know it’s not quite time to make Easter cookies right now, but these jelly bean cookie decorations aren’t actually cookies. They’re royal icing candy decorations and we need to make them before Easter. They’re great for stress-free decorating.

It may seem weird, but I promise, now’s the time to get started, and the best way to make them is to use your leftover royal icing from the cookies you’re making now. I have several candy decorations planned for you, and I thought I’d start with jelly bean cookie decorations because they’re fun and colorful.

I also have a cookie planned for you, but I wanted to show you the decorations that go with them first because we all know having a few cookie decorations makes decorating cookies easier.

Cover it with a large royal icing ribbon rose, of course! I keep ribbon roses on hand for occasions like this. It’s a great way to use leftover icing and turn a mistake into a cute cookie. Are you looking forward to Easter this year? I know life is crazy right now and we’re supposed to stay home away from everyone for a few weeks. That means we may not get to celebrate in our traditional ways. Don’t let that stop you because you can make a fondant carrot for Easter that looks like a normal carrot with the kids.

Even if the kids live in a different state like my cute grandkids so, you can make a phone call and make these with them on Facetime. What if they don’t have fondant? Don’t worry.
