Cookie Cutters:

I bought my cutters from KaleidaCuts.com and used an oval shape cutter to cut out the faces of Winnie the redhead witch and Mary the black-haired witch. It worked like a charm! I used a knife to cut Sarah’s hair and she is the blonde-haired witch. Unfortunately, I didn’t record this but you can do it. Be brave and give them a haircut. It’s easy to do so good luck and have fun!

Royal Icing Colors:

Add a tiny amount of food-gel color to your royal icing when you mix it. It doesn’t take much so add a little until you get the colors you like.

Hocus Pocus Hair Cookies:

I don’t know about you all, but I’m ready to watch Hocus Pocus 2! One thing I needed to do was come up with an easy set of cookies for my grandkids. I kept seeing a set of Sanderson Sisters hair earrings online and I knew that would a super simple set to make. Last year I purchased the Sister Witches Set of 3 from KaleidaCuts. The only problem was it was the heads of the sisters. We don’t need the entire heads, we just need the hair.

A simple solution is to use an oval cutter and a knife to cut off the faces. It’s not hard, but I forgot to take pictures of that while I was baking. You can cut the cut Winnie aka Bette Midler and Mary aka Kathy Najimy with an oval cutter. You can also use the bottom of an oval acorn cookie cutter. Just look for something oval that will make two cuts to make the happy little shape. Sarah aka Sarah Jessica Parker was cut with a knife. It’s not hard to cut you just need to look at the image and cut out the space where her face would be. Now you’re ready to decorate.

Let’s decorate some Hocus PoAllcally, all you need to do is outline and flood each cookie.
  • Use the turkey lacer to pop the air bubbles and help smooth out the icing.
  • Let them dry.

I told you they were easy to make!

I hope you get a chance to make some Halloween cookies with the kids. My favorite part is hearing them tell me how they’re going to decorate. They each have their own ideas and I love it! If you watch them they’ll probably sneak some of the royal icings just to make sure it tastes good. In my opinion, this is a good set because it doesn’t require much decorating at all. They’re super simple, fun, and cute!

I’ll be posting a tutorial on the bat cookies soon. If you like the oval frame around the cookies I’ll post a tutorial on how to make it in like two minutes. Super simple, super cute, and super affordable. Perfect for showing off your cookies.

Bear hugs,

Lisa
