How to bake the cookies to look like real bacon:
  • Place a few pieces of rolled-up (kind of wadded) pieces of aluminum foil on a baking sheet.

Simple Little Bacon Cookies Decorated with Royal Icing

  • Begin by cutting out the bacon cookies with Sweet Sugarbelle’s bacon cookie cutter. Don’t freeze them because you want to be in control when you add them to the baking sheet.
  • Lay a few pieces of foil randomly on the baking sheet.
  • Cover the rolls of foil with a piece of parchment paper.
  • Place the cutout bacon cookies on the parchment-covered foil and let them hang down and touch the cookie sheet. Try placing the bacon cookies a little wonky on the foil so the simple little bacon cookies will look different when they bake. You know, like the real ones you make in the big hot skillet.
  • Bake them and watch the magic happen. The cookies will bake and take different shapes because of the foil. It will give them a nice shape that looks like actual bacon.
